We’re supporting a high-growth, private-equity-backed financial services group in the search for an experienced Group Accountant / Financial Controller-level professional. This is a critical role for the business and they’re looking to have someone in seat before mid January.

The Role
You’ll lead the month-end close across several legal entities, manage a small team, and deliver high-quality group reporting. With ongoing acquisitions and continuous change, this is a role with genuine variety and senior visibility.
You’ll work closely with the Group Finance leadership team, partnering with FP&A, External Reporting and Audit, while helping to strengthen reporting processes and controls across the group.
What you’ll be doing
- Lead the full month-end close for multiple regulated and non-regulated entities
- Oversee management accounting and group financial reporting
- Complete and review group consolidations and intercompany reconciliations
- Drive improvements in reporting processes, controls and documentation
- Manage, develop and mentor a team of four
- Partner with FP&A on variance analysis and commentary for senior stakeholders
- Support external audit processes
- Contribute to M&A integration and broader finance change initiatives
What we’re looking for
- Qualified accountant (ACA / ACCA / CA / CIMA)
- Strong financial services background (wealth mgmt, asset mgmt, banking or other FCA-regulated environments)
- Solid experience running multi-entity month-end close
- Proven experience with group consolidations and intercompany
- Confident managing a small team
- Highly organised, hands-on and calm under pressure
- Thrives in dynamic, fast-changing, PE-backed environments
Contract, Start Date & Progression
Because of the urgency, the business will only consider candidates who are:

The package includes:
- 12-month fixed-term contract up to £90k base
- Strong potential to convert to permanent for the right person (could be straight perm)
- Hybrid working from a central London office
