I’m working with a leading international bank to recruit an experienced and hands-on HR Manager.This is a pivotal role within a highly professional and regulated environment, offering the opportunity to shape and deliver a people agenda that supports both business goals and a collaborative, high-performing culture.
Reporting directly to senior management, you’ll lead a small HR team, ensuring the smooth delivery of HR operations and the successful execution of strategic initiatives across the UK entity.
What you’ll be doing:
Take full ownership of the HR agenda, providing both strategic direction and hands-on operational leadership.
Partner with senior stakeholders to deliver effective people solutions and advise on all aspects of people management.
Ensure compliance with UK employment law, HR policies, and regulatory frameworks including SMCR.
Lead and mentor a team of four, fostering development, collaboration, and excellence in service delivery.
Oversee key HR processes including employee relations, performance management, compensation reviews, onboarding, and learning initiatives.
Support the implementation of global HR programmes locally, adapting them to meet UK-specific requirements.
Partner with leadership to drive engagement, wellbeing, and inclusion initiatives across the business.
Maintain robust HR governance and ensure alignment with the bank’s global values and standards.
About you:
Strong HR generalist experience within financial services or banking.
In-depth knowledge of UK Employment Law and HR best practice.
Proven experience working in a regulated environment (SMCR experience essential).
Confident managing a small team and providing hands-on operational support.
Skilled at building relationships with senior stakeholders and influencing with credibility.
Proactive, pragmatic, and commercially minded – able to balance strategic thinking with day-to-day execution.
